Lessons Learned: ( & Please Share Yours!)

Blogging has been so amazing lately. I really appreciate all you readers, your comments & seeing all your amazing blogs!! I  also love getting a peek into your lives & seeing what all you creative genius's are up to. It's really pushed me creatively & I love it!

There are so many things I still have to learn and improve on, but that is what makes blogging so much fun! This year I have many goals for myself, including learning how to knit, taking better pictures & painting more.

One thing that I have learned over the past little while & would like to share with you.

Never stop creating & being inspired.

It can be really hard, especially when we get into those creative ruts. (Which I know we all have). I am always looking for a good story or something to photograph. I write all my ideas down, so I have some good back up ideas in case I'm just not feeling it. I'm also always working on some DIY project, trying a new recipe or learning something new. Most don't make it onto the blog, but it gets my creative juices flowing.

What things have you learned over your blogging ventures? I'd love to hear your tips! Please leave a comment & make sure it links back to your blog. (So we can all enjoy your creative goodness!)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Before I started my current blog, I used to do fashion blogging—and the largest lesson that came along with that was that if it's not fun, and you don't enjoy doing it, you probably shouldn't be doing it. Or you need to find a way to make it fun and engaging again. My new blog has definitely reinforced how supportive the blogging community is—and that if you have an idea, go for it.

& Pinterest is so so helpful. I Love that it makes it so EASY to keep track of credit and links.

Love this! So true, blogging every day is a challenge but it forces you to be creative and stay connected to the design world. I would say that the posts I seem to get the most comments on are those that I've "created" myself, i.e,. photographs of something I put together, or a concept board for a room I'm helping a friend with, or outfit ideas with shopping links and street style photos. I think people that aren't designers/creative types like it when we show them what's possible, AND how to get it. If that makes sense!

That makes perfect sense. I think along those lines, people like to see the creative process of designers. I know I do! I love seeing a designers inspirations & their finished "original" projects.

That's so true about staying creative and inspired. Sometimes I look at others blogs and feel inferior, but I have to remember to keep creating and being inspired by every little thing. And if I get inspired by something...I save it and share it! That's pretty much what I try to keep my blog about, sharing inspiration.

love the idea of bblogging everyday, I just don't have the time to do it but blogging definitely allows me to get my creative or just weird thoughts out into the universe. I have a folder of images that inspire me or I'll bookmark a couple pages or anything like that. love the blogging community and seeing everyone's creativity flowing out :)

Hmm, I find it really helpful to take a photo every single day. And often that little act of finding some small piece of beauty in my day will give me an idea for a post. I also love pinterest, so helpful for blogging I think. Loving your blog by the by!

That's a fabulous idea to take pictures everyday. I'm going to try... but will probably forget some days! :/

That I do need to take more photos...it's hard though and I end up using older ones, but it's fun going through what I have and fixing them up in Photoshop

I've loved these past 11 months of learning, too....! And the new friendships are AWESOME! :) I think the most important thing I learned from blogging is that people want original content. And this, in turn, has caused me to just be creative, continually in search of inspiration, and as a result, I've had so much fun. Thanks for this fun post!

I'm so grateful for all your input! I agree with all of you & I'm excited to give your ideas a try. I hope you all found this helpful! :)

I agree with Erika and Rebecca - The posts that are the most fulfilling for me, and get the most buzz are those things that I do myself and share. That being said, it's impossible for one person to have something like that everyday (although I'd like to!). So the balance is crucial and something I'm still working on!
