Wow! What an amazing Mother's Day it was this year! Not only was it my first Mother's Day with two moms -- I got married this year. It was my first Mother's Day doing flowers! I got the wonderful opportunity to put together a half a dozen arrangements for some friends & family. It made me so happy to think that I could be apart of creating an arrangement to show gratitude & love for some great Mother's out there & I had a blast doing it!
I think what I love most about doing flowers is how simply it brings joy to people. I know this first hand. For example on Saturday I woke up in a crummy mood & skulked around for most of the morning. But when I got the Mother's Day flowers my mood completely turned upside down for the rest of the day.
Luckily for me no one was really picky with the flowers arrangements, so I got a lot of creative freedom. I have been searching for great vases for the past month in preparation & ordered flowers on Sunday. I got some really beautiful flowers, including chocolate Dahlia's, Anemone & Ranunculus.

For my Beautiful Mother --
My Mother is a very creative soul. I think I might get some of my creative urges from her. I saw a while ago a vase made out of a tea cup and candle stick stem & I loved it. I knew my Mom would love something like this --
The teacup -- $3 & the candle stick $1 at a thrift store-
I used a hot glue gun to put the two together -- very simple.
